Field Trip Fun

It was my week to teach preschool and we have been learning the letter 'D' so I thought it would be fun to take the girls on a field trip to the Dinosaur Museum.
It couldn't have been more perfect. The girls were so well behave, Jill didn't squawk once and the best part... no one was there.

Megan was on cloud nine and loved having her little posse with her. She tends to get left behind a lot when Julie gets invited to do fun things so this was really great for her.
Emma was our little diva. She had some sweet poses every time I tried to take a picture.

Old Mother Hubbard and Two Sisters

Julie had Nursery Rhyme Festival at school where each student picked their favorite nursery rhyme and they recited it as people walked by. She did such a good job.

She will find any opportunity to bring a stuffed animal to school, especially a stuffed toy dog.

Megan was not about to let Julie steal the show and all the pictures. She made sure I snap a shot of her in the toy truck in Julie's classroom.

Jill is growing up so fast. She is starting to lean forward to almost a crawling position. Seriously already? She is constantly kicking those little feet of hers and the open mouth is pretty typical too. Oral fixation kid #2, Megan being my first.

A Year Later

Here are Julie's school pictures. One from preschool last year and her Kindergarten picture this year. I can't believe how much she has changed in just a year. She is getting so big.

Balloon Update

Touchdown is confirmed for November 20th. That is 14 days people. I really think it would have gone longer but the balloon made it's way over to our second story overlook and Julie got her hands on it. She wasn't up for continuing my little experiment. She said she wanted to play with it. (Shrug)...kids.

Today's Happenings

I took the girls to the dentist this morning and it was a first for Megan. She was totally fine until they reclined the chair (so basically before they even started to do anything). She actually did really well. She let them clean her teeth and even let them do x-rays. After she was done I asked if she would come back again and she said yes. So the trip was a success. Julie even did fairly well considering she is terrified of any Dr's office. Good news: Both are cavity free.
Jill of course hammed it up and would give the greatest grins and giggles to the dentist while he was trying to talk to me. I think he had a little soft spot for her and gave her a toothbrush of her own. It has this gum massager on the end and she just loves it.

Today at school Julie did a little presentation for her class on things about her. What she likes, her talents, what she likes to do, her favorite book and etc...You make a poster and then the teacher hangs it in the classroom all week. They are called "Hero of the Week". Julie did a great job and then the classmates can asked her questions about herself. For Julie's talent she wrote loving my friends. Her teacher thought it was very fitting. She is my little social bug.

Here are other things she put on her poster. First and middle name (obvious from the picture), her favorite food is Mac & Cheese, favorite thing to do is play T-ball, her favorite book is "Are You My Mother?", favorite color: red (this changes day to day). I think she picked it because she could spell it. Her favorite animal is a cheetah. I heart Julie!

Okay so this is totally random but I thought I must share. Julie went to a birthday party 10 days ago. She got a balloon and accidentally let it go and now it is up in our vaulted ceiling. STILL THERE, after 10 days and doesn't even seem to be losing helium. What they crap did they put in that thing? I am going to keep you updated and let you know how long it takes for this balloon on steroids to make it back to earth. It is hard to tell from the picture but Julie tattooed the balloon with some great pictures and some names of her friends.

Pippi Longstocking

When Julie lost her front tooth last week I got inspired to do a last minute costume change. Somehow I was able to convince Julie to live out a beloved childhood memory of mine. She thought it was awesome to get to do the red hair and wear cool green striped stockings (thanks Kathie).
Who could forget: Pippi Longstocking is coming into your world A freckle-faced redhaired girl, you outta know She'll throw your life into a whirl.
Other kids costumes posted soon...
